As a psychologist in the New York City Public Schools, I found that I could do more than just making intellectual and placement decisions about students based on standardized tests.. I began to observe students in groups, in classrooms and individually, thus being able to evaluate their cognitive ability, as well as their social and emotional maturation. With the permission of the principal, I was able to form groups with teachers, helping them to understand their own dynamics, and work together to resolve important issues. As a result of these experiences, I wrote a number of published articles, the information of which can be useful to many clinicians working in various environments (prisons, orphan homes, juvenile delinquent homes, and others). Below are the titles of my published articles. Contact me if you would like copies • The significance of here and now disclosure in promoting cohesion in group therapy • The coexistence of primitive rage in therapy: A 4 year old girl, her parents & the therapist • Stress reduction for students in elementary and middle schools • The use of group process for alleviating teachers’ stress within a school setting • Operative group dynamics in school settings: structuring to enhance educational, social, and emotional progress • Perception of self and attitude toward one’s college class, cohesion and grade • Here and now” and ‘There and then” disclosures on cohesion and students attitudes toward specific courses • An On The Site Stress Workshop For Teachers: The Creation of a Therapeutic Group Environment • A Group Analytic Approach to the Education of Children and Teenagers
